Parenting brings joys and challenges, and when teens are struggling, parents need real solutions. Adolescence can be a complex time for both teens and their families, as they face academic pressures, social dynamics, and emotional challenges. Charlotte works with adolescents to build coping skills, enhance self-awareness and identity development, and manage anxiety, depression, and self-esteem concerns. Drawing on approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy, she helps teens develop healthy strategies to navigate life’s transitions. Weaknesses in executive skills often contribute to academic stress, and she has experience coaching teenagers to develop stress management methods that help strengthen emotional wellness and academic performance. Charlotte is experienced and trained in crisis intervention including suicide and threat risk prevention and assessment, and she holds the belief that life’s most difficult times can be a catalyst for growth and resilience. To set a foundation for healthy living, Charlotte can help adolescents find their strengths, passions, and values. Recognizing the importance of family involvement, Charlotte provides guidance to parents on communication, conflict resolution, and growing through changes, creating a collaborative environment where teens and families can thrive together. If the presenting concerns are related to school, with a deep understanding of school system intervention and special education processes, she is adept at navigating the complexities of those systems to support student wellbeing. (Mrs. Nagy holds an Educational Specialist/Ed.S. degree in School Psychology and is an experienced school psychologist.)
