Ms. Jazmyn Jones received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and her master’s degree in clinical social work from the prestigious clinical social work program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. Following five years of experience working with youth in social and school settings, Jazmyn widened her experience to working with families and adults diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders. Jazmyn has worked in several different settings including private practice, at-risk youth programs, residential treatment programs, outpatient programs, community-based support programs, and student support services in Wake County Public Schools. Her experience is across the lifespan, as she has worked with all ages, to include children, teens, and adults.

Intervention Style: Jazmyn has experience creating person-centered plans that outline goals in treatment to help clients achieve the change they desire. In her therapy work, she helps clients to navigate through different stages of life and how they affect their presenting problem. Jazmyn works with individuals who have dual/differential diagnosis using empirically validated techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Jazmyn’s use of empirically validated behavioral therapies allows her to take a focused, action-oriented approach to help clients change their behavior responses. She uses motivational interviewing skills to empower clients to change by drawing on their own meaning, importance, and capacity to create change. Jazmyn also designs an environment centered around respect and healthy curiosity to facilitate the natural process of change, while honoring client autonomy.

Therapy Experience: Jazmyn has experience working with clients of all ages presenting with all diagnoses and life concerns, working with clients on the full range of behavioral, emotional, family, and life skills issues they may seek to change in their lives. Areas she works with include, but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, social isolation, social skills, interpersonal relationship skills, and emotional regulation skills. Jazmyn also has experience facilitating therapeutic outpatient groups.

Personal: Jazmyn enjoys baking and playing with her dogs during her free time. She also enjoys fellowshipping with friends, exploring new local activities, and taking nature walks.
